Job description

Summary:

In this role, you will assist in evaluating loan applications, analyzing financial statements, and assessing credit risk for various types of loans. This is a great opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to build a foundation in credit analysis within a community banking environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, and other relevant documents to assess borrower creditworthiness.
  • Assist in underwriting mortgage, commercial, SBA, and personal loans by preparing credit memos and risk assessments.
  • Work closely with loan officers and senior credit analysts to ensure loan applications comply with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor existing loan portfolios, identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Conduct market and industry research to support lending decisions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports in compliance with bank policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide support for loan renewals, modifications, and portfolio management.
  • Aids in preparation of SBA loan packages and reports
  • Gathers credit information for preparation of commercial loan packages
  • Tracks financial statements
  • Handles account receivable lines of credit and performs account receivable offsite reviews
  • Prepares allowance for Loan & Lease losses calculation and other reports for the Board

Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial statement analysis and basic accounting principles.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • SBA Loan Experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship or experience in banking, finance, or credit analysis is a plus but not required.
