Summary:

The Manager provides leadership and oversight for clinical nutrition and patient services ensuring high-quality, patient- and family-centered care across the organization. This role is responsible for the development, coordination, and oversight of the dietetic internship program, ensuring the organization meets and maintains regulatory and compliance requirements necessary for accreditation in collaboration with leadership. Fifty percent (50%) of time will be allocated to management of this program.

Responsibilities:

Collaborates with food service, medical staff, nursing, and allied health professionals to support multidisciplinary patient care.Educates interns in collaboration with internal and external subject matter experts and maintains documentation of learning activities, competency achievement, and internship projects.Ensures compliance with food safety and sanitation standards and regulations.Ensures achievement of the dietetic internship program's goals and objectives through collaboration with interns, preceptors, and advisory board members, while maintaining compliance with program and accreditation standards.Develops, updates, and implements clinical and patient services policies, procedures, and quality initiatives, including those supporting the dietetic internship program, and partners with leadership to align clinical nutrition and patient services operations.Oversees and guides the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized nutrition care plans, ensuring timely completion of nutrition interventions, and compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards through ongoing chart audits.Coordinates and oversees employee scheduling, daily staffing assignments, and departmental productivity. Provides leadership, training, coaching, and mentoring to clinical and patient services staff, communicates departmental goals, and priorities, and manages performance evaluations and corrective actions in accordance with organizational policies.Oversees the recruitment, advising, evaluation, and counseling of dietetic interns.Monitors patient meal service quality. Addresses patient complaints, grievances, special requests and escalated issues.Maintains ACEND accreditation standards for the dietetic internship program, including oversight of intern records, curriculum and program evaluation, complaint management, and timely submission of fees, documentation, and reports.

Prior experience in staff leadership or supervision is strongly preferred. Prior experience in directing a dietetic internship is strongly preferred.Other Information: Additional Education info: Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field.
