The CNA / Med Tech will function under the direction of the nurse-in-charge in the delivery of personal patient care to the residents in Barclay House.

  • Provide personal patient care services in conjunction with established nursing policy and procedure under the direct supervision of the nurse in charge. 
  • Maintain accurate and objective written and oral communications through the use of the problem-oriented record system. 
  • Plan and complete patient care assignments, assisting patients with all activities of daily living. 
  • Participate in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the individual patient plan of care as a part of the interdisciplinary team.  
  • Maintain and ensure the personal rights of all patients through knowledge of and advocacy of the Patient's Bill of Rights.  
  • Establish safe and accurate working habits in the delivery of individual patient care.  
  • Participate in ongoing education to extend knowledge and improve skills as required by DHS.
  • Participate in the orientation of new staff members.   
  • Assist in the development of Health Service programs.  Actively participate in monitoring the medical alert and fire alarm systems.
