Dataย Analystย โ€“ Strategicย Planning and Analytics

  • The Data Analyst supports reporting and analysis of Company and Client performance across Online Operations, Foreclosure/Trustee Operations, andย Businessย Developmentย teams.ย As a member of the Strategic Planning and Analytics team, this roleย is responsible forย building, executing, andย maintainingย recurring and ad hoc reports while ensuring data accuracy and clarity.

  • A criticalย componentย of this role is developing a strong understanding of the real estate and default servicing industries, including the operational, financial, and process drivers thatย impactย Company and Client performance. The ideal candidate is curious, analytically minded, and motivated to learn how data is used to supportย decision-making in a complex, regulated business environment

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Provide reporting and analytical support to operational teams, helping convey Company and Client performance throughย accurateย andย timely metrics, dashboards, and analyses
  • Build, execute, and maintain recurring and ad hoc reports used by internal stakeholders and external clients, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the real estate and default servicing industries, including foreclosure processes, mortgage servicing workflows, and the operational drivers thatย impact performance metrics.
  • Assistย in the design and enhancement of reports that meet defined business and operational requirements, incorporating feedback from stakeholdersย 
  • Execute and maintain reporting solutions using existing tools and queries, including AWS Athena, Excel, Power BI, and other reporting platforms.
  • Support the documentation, validation, and ongoing maintenance of datasets and reporting tables used for management and operational reporting.ย Identify, investigate, and help remediate data integrity issues prior to report delivery, escalating concerns as appropriateย 
  • Adhereย to defined reporting schedules and deliverables whileย remainingย flexible to changing business priorities and urgent requestsย 
  • Partner with the Data Engineering team to ensure consistency and reliability of data used across reports and functional areas
  • Fulfill ad hoc analytical requests for business leaders, providing clear explanations of findings and limitations
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with business partners regardingย work status, priorities, and expected delivery timelinesย 
  • Support the development of new business metrics and assistย withย exploratory,ย testandcontrol, or validation analyses as needed

Knowledge,ย Skillsย and Abilities

Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, withย advanced Microsoft Excel skillsย (formulas, pivot tables, data validation)ย required

  • Foundational to intermediateย SQL skills, including the ability to write, understand, andย modifyย queries; experience with AWS Athena is preferredย 
  • Exposure to business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRSย 
  • Demonstrates a strong interest in learning the real estate and default servicing industries, including the ability to translate operational processes into meaningful analytical insightsย 
  • Basic understanding of data warehousing and data lake concepts; familiarity with enterprise data warehouse structures (e.g., star schema) is a plus
  • Strong analytical, problemsolving, andย criticalthinkingย skills, with the ability to interpret data andย identifyย trends or anomaliesย 
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and quality prior to report delivery
  • Effective timemanagementย and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in aย fastpacedย environmentย 
  • Comfortable collaborating with crossfunctionalย partners and communicating analytical findings to stakeholders at varying levels of the organizationย 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain data and results clearly and concisely

Education/Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Economics, Finance,ย Information Technology,ย Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative disciplineย required; equivalent practical experience may be consideredย 
  • Entrylevelย candidates are encouraged to apply; internship,ย coop, academic project, or early professional experience in data analysis, reporting, business analytics, or a related field is a plusย 
  • Prior experience in real estate, mortgage servicing, default servicing, foreclosure, or financial services is preferred but not requiredย 
  • Demonstrated interest in learning the real estate and default servicing industries, including a willingness to develop an understanding of industry terminology, workflows, and performance drivers through onthejobย experienceย 
  • Experience working with data in an academic, internship, or professional settingโ€”such as analyzing datasets, building reports, or supporting business decisionsโ€”is highly desirable.
