Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.


American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for Math Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year for our campuses located in the East Valley. Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implement the adopted mathematics curriculum and develop lesson plans aligned to state standards that include clear objectives, instructional strategies, and assessment methods.
  • Incorporate a variety of approved instructional materials and resources to support diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Teach math concepts and skills through engaging and effective methods, including lectures, hands-on activities, group work, and technology integration.
  • Facilitate lessons that promote problem-solving, critical thinking, and mathematical reasoning.
  • Use real-world examples and applications to make math concepts relevant and interesting to students.
  • Create and administer a range of assessments, including quizzes, tests, projects, and homework, to evaluate student understanding and progress.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback on student work to help them improve and master mathematical concepts.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress and use data to inform instruction and identify areas for improvement.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment that supports learning and fosters respect among students.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to address behavioral issues and create a conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Ensure that students follow classroom rules and procedures and maintain a focus on their academic work.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students, including those with varying levels of mathematical proficiency and special educational needs.
  • Provide additional support and approved instructional resources to students who need extra help with math concepts and skills.
  • Develop individualized learning plans for students who require additional assistance.
  • Encourage student participation and engagement through interactive lessons, group activities, and real-world problem-solving tasks.
  • Motivate students to take an active interest in mathematics and pursue further study or careers in STEM fields.
  • Use technology and digital tools to enhance instruction and make learning more interactive.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest educational practices, mathematical research, and teaching technologies.
  • Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Maintain clear and open communication with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and any concerns.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss student achievements, challenges, and development.
  • Provide regular updates on classroom activities, assignments, and assessments.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports, grades, and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Organize and support extracurricular math activities, such as math clubs, competitions, or tutoring sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Arizona Teaching Certificate or 24 credit hours in area or Content knowledge exams (AEPA, NES, Praxis)
