Job description

Join the Harbour Lights Resort team in Myrtle Beach, SC. We are seeking a Full Time Seasonal Recreation Coordinator to support our activities program. In this role, you will help create memorable guest experiences by coordinating and leading a variety of recreational events throughout the resort.

To fulfill this role, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:ย 

  • Basic math and cash handling skills.ย 
  • Proficient in MS Office and basic desktop publishing applications.ย 
  • Able to work outdoors in all climates.ย 
  • Excellent guest relations skills.ย 
  • Able to interact with all age groups.ย 
  • Able to work weekends, holidays and various shifts
  • Able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to complete job requirements and to connect with co-workers and guests/owners.ย 

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:ย 

  • Previous customer service experienceย 
  • Hospitality experienceย 
  • Public speaking experienceย 
  • Audio-visual equipment operationย 
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of recreation activities and programs including their development and implementation.ย

Responsibilities:ย 

  • Facilitate recreational programs and activities on a day-to-day basis for all age groups according to the needs and interests of owners/members/guests, resort requirements, and seasonal opportunities.ย 
  • Prioritize and instruct specific classes, activities, and events, including special events, holiday programs, competitions, mixers, and other group activities.ย 
  • Monitors and evaluates recreation program content and prepares communication material (flyers, handouts, postings, etc.) to attract participants and promote program interest.ย 
  • Evaluates programs/activities for effectiveness and participation seeking new and exciting ideas for enhancement of the programs.ย 
  • Always provides outstanding owner/member/guest service including answering inquiries, providing information, and general problem solving.ย 
  • Positively communicates with small to large groups for programs and activities. Includes using microphones in an entertainment capacity.ย 

Schedule Details:ย Our Recreation / Activities Department operates 7 days per week including holidays. Shifts range between 8:00 am through 9pm. Upon hire, you will receive your schedule. We offer paid training.ย
