POSITION OVERVIEW

The Image Quality Tuning Engineer II contributes to the development and improvement of Gentex vision products by creating and executing tests and data collection to define changes for improving image quality for Gentex's various product lines.

Location: This position requires on-site work at Gentex facilities. This role is not eligible for remote work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop a practiced understanding of various image signal processing (ISP) pipelines and their supporting tools.

  • Finetune ISP pipelines to achieve high quality results.

  • Collaborate with various Software Development teams to implement changes for various ISP pipelines.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to meet the unique image quality needs of various product use cases.

  • Contribute to the process of data collection, analysis, and evaluation of results, combining both objective and subjective feedback to drive image quality improvements.

  • Interface with ISP providers as needed for image quality concerns.

  • Create and execute automated and manual testing.

  • Support customer feedback and tuning efforts on various programs.

  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

  • 2+ years of professional experience involving image quality analysis.

  • Expertise with scripting and analytical tools such as Python/MATLAB.

  • Experience in video and photography including camera operation and control.

  • Experience using version control tools such as GitHub.

  • Experience with image processing pipelines.

  • Experience with debugging hardware and software.

  • Proven creativity and strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

WHAT WILL HELP

  • Experience in Automotive, Aerospace, Fire Protection, or a related industry.

  • Ability to quickly comprehend and apply new technology.

  • Experience in software development lifecycle, version control systems (e.g., Git), and agile methodologies.

  • Experience with signal processing and working with time-series data.

  • Experience in Linux and software development.

  • Experience with embedded hardware/software.
