Job description

Waubun-Ogema-White Earth District #435 is currently in search of a Senior High Math Teacher. The WOWE staff operates as "one team with one goal." We are looking for a candidate who possesses excellent collaboration skills to work with our various community partners, a dedication to youth and curriculum, and a strong belief that every student can succeed. The W-O-W-E school district is located in Northwestern Minnesota, where the prairie meets the lakes and the pines.

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and student-centered educator to teach high school math. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching, skilled in classroom management, and committed to helping every student succeed.

Assignment: Certified

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach math in grades 912 using district-approved curriculum
  • Develop and deliver lesson plans that support student learning
  • Adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students
  • Regularly assess and track student progress
  • Maintain a structured, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, families, and administrators
  • Attend IEP meetings, school committees, and curriculum planning sessions
  • Provide direction to paraprofessionals supporting the classroom
  • Participate in professional development and stay current on best practices

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, classroom management, and assessment
  • Understanding of child development and learning theory
  • Familiarity with current educational technologies and teaching tools
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to individual student needs
  • Effective communication and collaboration with students, families, and staff
  • Ability to design, deliver, and evaluate lessons and learning materials
  • Competency in using software for lesson planning, grading, and student tracking
  • Professional writing and organizational skills
  • Willingness to contribute to curriculum development and school improvement efforts
     

Supervision of Other Employees:

While this position does not entail direct supervision of other employees, it does provide indirect supervision for the paraprofessionals in the classroom.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Education and a relevant instructional subject area(s).

License:

Licensed in the State of Minnesota in the instructional area.

Experience:

Minimum completion of an assigned internship/practice teaching experience and degree program.
