We are a brand-new daycare and preschool opening inย September 2025ย in Hillsboro, Oregon, serving children agesย 4 months to 6 years. Our program blendsย nurturing careย with aย STEM-based, Montessori-inspired, and play-based curriculumย to spark curiosity and a love of learning in every child.

Position Overview

Lead Teacher

Lead Teachers plan and deliver curriculum, foster a safe and stimulating learning environment, mentor assistant staff, and communicate regularly with families.

Assistant Teacher

Assistant Teachers support classroom activities, care routines, and learning experiences while ensuring a safe and positive environment for children.

Infant Teacher

Specializes in the care and development of infants (ages 4 months to 12 months), providing a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment that promotes early learning and secure attachments.

Key Responsibilities

For Lead Teachers:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans covering literacy, math, science, and social skills
  • Incorporate Montessori methods and STEM-based learning strategies into daily activities
  • Observe, assess, and document each childโ€™s progress; share updates with families
  • Maintain structured routines while fostering creativity and exploration
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively and promote positive interactions
  • Mentor assistant teachers, interns, and volunteers
  • Ensure compliance with all Oregon licensing requirements

For Assistant Teachers:

  • Support Lead Teacher in implementing curriculum and daily routines
  • Assist with meals, diapering, potty training, and transitions
  • Supervise and engage children in both indoor and outdoor STEM and Montessori-inspired activities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
  • Foster respectful communication with children, parents, and colleagues

For Infant Teachers:

  • Provide responsive, individualized care including feeding, diapering, and soothing
  • Plan age-appropriate sensory and motor development activities
  • Support early language development through songs, reading, and conversation
  • Maintain a calm, safe, and nurturing environment that fosters trust and security
  • Monitor and record developmental milestones for each infant
  • Communicate daily with parents about feeding, sleeping, and developmental progress
  • Ensure compliance with all infant care health, safety, and licensing requirements

For Both Roles:

  • Create a nurturing, inclusive, and safe learning environment
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the program
  • Document classroom activities and maintain accurate records
  • Supervise children during playtime, ensuring safety and encouraging social interaction

Qualifications

Required for All Roles:

  • Passion for working with young children and supporting their growth
  • Strong communication skills with children, parents, and staff
  • Completion (or willingness to complete upon hire) of:
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Food Handlerโ€™s Card
  • Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Training
  • Safe Sleep Training (for under age 3)
  • Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety
  • Enrollment (or eligibility) in Oregonโ€™sย Central Background Registry

Lead Teacher Additional Requirements:

  • At least 1-3 year or more experience in a licensed preschool or childcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development for ages 12 months to 6 years
  • Experience creating lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and engaging families
  • Preferred: Step 7+ on Oregonโ€™s OCCD Registry, degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, familiarity with Montessori principles, bilingual skills

Assistant Teacher Additional Requirements:

  • Preferred: Experience in a licensed childcare setting
  • Step 5+ on Oregonโ€™s OCCD Registry, high school diploma or ECE coursework a plus
  • Experience in toddler care and understanding of developmental stages is desirable

Infant Teacher Additional Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting preferred
  • Knowledge of safe infant care practices, including safe sleep guidelines
  • Familiarity with early infant development, bonding, and attachment theories
  • Step 5+ on Oregonโ€™s OCCD Registry, CDA in Infant/Toddler Care, or equivalent coursework a plus

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • Full-time and part-time shifts available
