Job description

Description:

Community School of Naples (CSN), an independent, college preparatory school in Southwest Florida, is currently seeking a motivated and talented Upper School (grades 9-12) Math Teacher, beginning in August 2026. This full-time position would teach five classes, with the average class size of approximately 14-16 students. While the specific classes can vary based on a candidate’s skillset, preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching Geometry, Algebra II, and Statistics. Other responsibilities will include serving as an advisor to 12 students and supporting CSN’s competitive math team.

The Upper School endeavors to cultivate in its students the ability to think critically and constructively, and the ability to communicate clearly and accurately their ideas, thoughts, and results. As an Upper School teacher at CSN, this individual should demonstrate a passion and expertise in the teaching of math and a willingness to develop a vibrant, challenging curriculum that allows students to engage in learning through research and experimentation.


Compensation and Benefits

The appointment is for a full-time, instructional position for the 2026-27 academic year with a start date of August 10, 2026. The position is paid on an annual salary basis, commensurate with experience and other qualifications. Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of teaching experience required.
  • To support our STEM Scholars and AP Capstone initiatives, experience in teaching research or competing in math, engineering, and/or science fair competitions is a definite plus but is not required.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to meet important deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, high-stakes environment.
  • Commitment to participating in professional organizations, conferences, subject-related competitions, etc.

Physical Demands/ Ability to

  • Lift/ carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Sit at a desk while working on the computer.
  • Bend, twist, kneel, stoop, climb, crouch, balance on a regular basis.
  • Withstand outside weather conditions.
  • Detect and exchange accurate information.
  • Have close visual acuity to perform essential functions of the job.
