ABOUT EAST END PREP

East End Prep, located in the heart of East Nashville, is empowering Kindergarten - 8th grade scholars with the foundation necessary to excel in high school and college completion. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Planning & Instruction

  • Prepare, internalize, and deliver a rigorous, standards-aligned scripted curriculum
  • Use scholar work and assessment data to inform instruction and target intervention
  • Engage in weekly coaching meetings to deepen content expertise and develop instructional mastery

General Curriculum:

  • ELA Curriculum: Core Knowledge Language Arts K-4; Novel Education Partners 5-8
  • Math Curriculum: Achievement First
  • Social Studies Curriculum: Gallopade
  • Science Curriculum: McGraw Hill

Grade Level Structure

  • Kindergarten โ€“ 3rd Grade: Self-contained with two lead teachers
  • 4th โ€“ 8th Grade: 2 ELA teachers, 2 Math teachers, 1 Science teacher, 1 Social Studies teacher
    • Kindergarten โ€“ 4th Grade = Elementary School
    • 5th Grade โ€“ 8th Grade = Middle School

Family Engagement

  • Provide families with guidance and resources around helping their scholar with their schoolwork at home
  • Serve as the main point of contact for families to communicate scholar academic progress and other school information
  • Track and input daily student behavior feedback to share with families
  • Host and attend two grade level family events (K-4 teachers)
  • Volunteer at two athletic events during the school year

School Based Responsibilities

  • Uphold East End Prepโ€™s core values at all times
  • Own arrival duty, recess or lunch duty (as assigned), and dismissal duty
  • Attend parent-teacher conferences, Kick Off Night, and other school-wide events
  • Engage in ongoing professional development programming, including summer training and PD sessions throughout the year

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidates applying for a lead teaching role must have an active Tennessee teaching license
  • Candidates without a teaching license can serve as Instructional Support during the current school year and must be willing to pursue teacher licensure starting the 2027-2028 school year.
