Industrial & Commercial Projects | Travel Throughout Alberta Required

Since 2011, we have supported the energy sector with specialized electrical and heat tracing services while continuing to expand into commercial, manufacturing, utility, and infrastructure projects.

The Opportunity

MSCP is seeking an experienced Master Electrician to join our growing team.

This is a position for someone who enjoys remaining actively involved in the field while providing technical oversight across multiple projects. You will serve as the Company's designated Master Electrician, responsible for obtaining electrical permits, supporting regulatory compliance, providing technical guidance to field teams, and ensuring installations meet the requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable provincial regulations.

Projects will include industrial facilities, electrical heat tracing systems, manufacturing environments, and commercial electrical installations throughout Alberta. Travel is a regular part of the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the Company's designated Master Electrician.

  • Obtain and manage electrical permits with municipalities and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).

  • Ensure all electrical work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code, Alberta regulations, permit conditions, and client specifications.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to electricians and apprentices.

  • Remain actively involved in field installation and project execution.

  • Install, supervise, and troubleshoot:

    • Industrial control panels

    • Electrical distribution equipment

    • RTDs, temperature sensors, and instrumentation

    • Power, control, and communication wiring

    • Conduit, cable tray, supports, and raceway systems

    • Commercial electrical systems and equipment

  • Perform commissioning, testing, verification, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.

  • Interpret drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, and construction documents.

  • Support project planning, quality assurance, inspections, and technical problem-solving.

  • Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Estimating, and Operations to deliver successful projects.

  • Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
  • Valid Alberta Master Electrician designation.

  • Alberta Journeyperson Electrician Certificate.

  • Extensive industrial and/or commercial electrical experience.

  • Demonstrated experience pulling electrical permits and coordinating inspections.

  • Thorough knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and Alberta electrical regulations.

  • Strong troubleshooting, commissioning, and field leadership experience.

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.

  • Experience with electrical heat tracing, industrial controls, instrumentation, or process facilities is considered an asset.

  • Experience with Procore or similar construction management software is considered an asset.

  • Willingness to travel throughout Alberta as projects require.
