Job description

Serving the needs of Garfield Heights and the Southeast communities of Cuyahoga County, Marymount Hospital is an acute care, faith-based hospital. As a Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapist, you willutilizespecialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in theareasof psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic interviews,assessmentsand treatment plans to provider therapy sessions to patients ranging in age from 5 to late adulthood.Therapy sessionsmay befor individuals, groups, oron afamily-oriented basis.

A caregiver in this role works days from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Utilize specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic interviews,assessmentsand treatment planstopatients.

  • Provide individual, group,familyand crisis counseling.

  • Utilize a clinical focus across the mental health spectrum, from anxiety and depression to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of assessments based on interdisciplinary treatment plans.

  • Consult with team members,statutory/voluntaryagenciesand relatives to ensure compliance with thepatienttreatment plan.

  • Act as a liaisonbetweenpatients, families, community supportworkersand facilities to obtain information andfacilitatedischarge planning.

  • Educate and provide resources to patients and families.

  • Supervise and/or trainlower-levelsocial workers,studentsor interns.

  • Process paperwork and complete clinical documentation.

  • Participate in continuing professional education, departmentalmeetingsand teaching.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Master'sDegree inSocialWork,Counselingor a related field

  • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW)

  • No record of substantiated ethics or patient abuse reports

  • Three years of experience in a behavioral health setting

  • Comprehensive knowledge of current psychotherapeutic techniques, theories, and practices sufficient to evaluate, diagnose and counsel patients

  • Ability to concisely document clinical findings and patient needs in an electronic medical record while navigating a multi-specialized behavioral health environment

  • Ability to communicate across different electronic platforms and across a broad geographic provide base

Physical Requirements:

  • A high degree of manual dexterity to produce materials on PC.

  • Normal or corrected vision.

  • Extensive sitting and frequent walking.

  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $27.65

Maximum hourly: $42.17
