Job description

Founded in 1953, Aerosonic has grown to be a leader in aviation instrumentation and avionics equipment – including air data systems, standby displays, digital and mechanical standby instruments, sensors and probes. Our customers include the major manufacturers of today’s civil, military and business fixed wing and rotorcraft platforms as well as all branches of the US military forces.  We are currently seeking an on-site Manufacturing Engineer Intern for our Clearwater, FL facility.

  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):  Development for manufacturing processes and Updates to incorporate process improvements, changes in equipment and/or new regulatory requirements
  • Technical Documentation:  Step-by-Step guides for work instructions for technicians and development of visual aids and updating routers
  • Process Documentation: Process Flow Diagrams to document the sequence of operations, workflows and interactions between different stages of production and process specifications to detail specific process parameters
  • Tooling Design: Working with Engineers to design fixturing
  • Updating Routers
  • Opportunity to work with Automation

Education/Previous Experience

  • Currently attending an accredited university for a degree as Manufacturing Engineer  
  • Must be available full-time for six months 
  • Must possess ability to work in and around an Engineering environment in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to work with ITAR products and related data without restriction. 

Skill Set Required:

  • Must have strong computer skills, including familiarity of office support programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Solidworks (or equivalent CAD software.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills using sound judgement and attention to detail
  • 3D Printing Experience
