Job Summary:
Carter Support Services is a manufacturing organization seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to transform financial and operational data into actionable insights. This role focuses on reporting and building BI reports to support decision-making across finance, operations, and commercial teams.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Design, develop, and maintain financial and operational reports from scratch using Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
โ€ข Build automated dashboards and recurring reports to support budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and performance analysis.
โ€ข Partner with finance and operations leaders to define reporting requirements and translate business needs into BI solutions.
โ€ข Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting outputs.
โ€ข Improve existing reporting processes by standardizing metrics and enhancing visualization quality.
โ€ข Analyze financial performance, including revenue, costs, margins, and variances across manufacturing operations.
โ€ข Support month-end and periodic financial reporting activities with data validation and analysis.
โ€ข Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within production, labor, material, and overhead costs.
โ€ข Assist with pricing analysis, including margin analysis and profitability modeling.
โ€ข Support regular pricing updates, customer quotes, and new business pricing requests.
โ€ข Collaborate with sales and operations teams to evaluate pricing strategies and cost impacts.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข 2โ€“5 years of experience in a financial analyst, data analyst, or reporting-focused role.
โ€ข Proven experience creating BI reports and dashboards from scratch (Power BI, Tableau, or similar required).
โ€ข Strong understanding of financial data, KPIs, and reporting structures.
โ€ข Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data modeling)
โ€ข SQL or other data-querying experience
โ€ข Ability to work independently with raw data and minimal structure.
โ€ข Experience supporting or working within a manufacturing or industrial environment is strongly preferred.
Preferred:
โ€ข Experience with pricing, margin analysis, and profitability modeling.
โ€ข Exposure to quoting processes and pricing updates for new or existing customers.
โ€ข Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics).
โ€ข Understanding of standard manufacturing cost structures (COGS, labor, materials, overhead).
