We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Automation Engineer to join a growing manufacturing organization focused on innovation, operational excellence, and advanced automation. This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting automated manufacturing systems that drive productivity, quality, and reliability. Description Lead the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing equipment, assembly processes, and production systems. Serve as the technical owner for automation projects from concept through production, ensuring reliability, safety, scalability, and performance. Design and modify mechanical systems, tooling, fixtures, and machine assemblies using SolidWorks and other CAD tools. Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, motion control systems, sensors, actuators, and electrical control systems. Program, integrate, and support industrial robots and machine vision systems to improve manufacturing efficiency and quality. Diagnose and resolve complex electromechanical equipment issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Drive equipment reliability, uptime, throughput, and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations. Lead capital equipment projects including vendor management, design reviews, commissioning, validation, and production handoff. Develop project budgets, ROI analyses, and capital expenditure justifications while ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Provide hands-on support for equipment startups, process optimization, maintenance strategies, and sustained production operations. Profile A successful Senior Automation Engineer should have: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred, with 7+ years of hands-on automation engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting, especially Allen-Bradley and Omron platforms, along with HMI development and support. Proven ability to program, integrate, and troubleshoot industrial robots (ABB, Fanuc) and machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence). Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with experience designing automated equipment, tooling, fixtures, and mechanical assemblies. Advanced electromechanical troubleshooting skills, including root cause analysis and resolution of complex equipment and controls issues. Experience with motion control systems, sensors, actuators, safety circuits, and electrical control panel design. Knowledge of UL and CE standards and best practices for industrial automation systems. Demonstrated success leading automation and capital equipment projects from concept through installation, commissioning, and production support. Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
