Responsibilities

Brinkmann Assistant Superintendentย Internsย are responsible forย assistingย theย Projectย Superintendent in all aspects of the day-to-day management of a construction project.ย 

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and other members of the project team.ย 
  • Support site safety efforts and helpย maintainย a safe and organized jobsiteย 
  • Complete assigned day-to-day work independently, seeking guidance and support when necessary.ย 
  • Assistย with reviewing plans, specifications, and project documents.ย 
  • Execute and enforce safety standards, processes, and procedures.ย 
  • Participate in project documentation, including daily reports, meeting notes, and progress tracking.ย 
  • Work effectively as part of a team. ย 
  • Participate in Brinkmann BUILD program events,ย trainings,ย jobsiteย visitsย and mock bid.ย 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.ย 
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:ย 

  • Pursuing education towardsย associate orย bachelorsย degree in construction fieldย 
  • General knowledge of construction principles/practices.ย 
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.ย 
  • Ability to understand and solve complex challengesย in order toย present alternativeย solution(s).ย 
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.ย 
  • Excellent communication skills,ย both written and verbal.ย 
  • Proficiencyย with computer applications including Microsoft Office suite.ย 
  • Key success factors include passion for the construction industry, self-motivated, strong work ethic, time-management, organized, detail-orientedย and creative.ย 

Preferred Qualifications:ย 

  • Prior internship or work experience in the construction industry.ย 

Working Conditions:ย 

  • The Assistant Superintendentย Intern'sย work is primarily performed outdoors in various weather conditions with some exposure to health or safety hazards, including noise level may range from moderate to loudย ย 
  • Moderate physical effort isย required, including the ability to walk the job site, climb ladders and scaffolding, lift loads up to 50ย lbs, perform hands-on work when necessaryย 
  • While performing the essential functions of this position, the individual may use hands to handle,ย controlย or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; bend, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
