Job description


SUMMARY
The Scenic Specialist assists in the construction and installation of scenic and staging projects for Onsite Live Events, Studio Broadcasts, and any other Mills James projects.
REQUIREMENTS
• High School degree with a minimum of 4 years' experience as a scenic carpenter in
broadcast, film, theatre, live entertainment scenic construction industry
• Knowledge of standard construction means and methods. Ability to read construction drawings, layouts and scenic documentation
• Hands on approach related to carpentry, paint, soft goods, print and logistics
• A high degree of adaptability to a continually changing environment
• Valid driver's license required. Required to obtain US Passport and medical card if
necessary. Must be available for 40% travel and work flexible hours
• Able to drive company vehicles including cars, vans, and box trucks
• Available to work odd hours including early morning, evenings, overnight, and occasional weekends
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty and other duties that may be assigned. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Assists in the coordination of shop build, packaging of scenic elements and its transport, installation, strike and storage
• Assumes a construction role in both shop and on location projects. May also assume technical role as needed (Audio, Lighting, Video, Stream)
• Follow all safety procedures to ensure the safety of the crew, clients and audience
• Assists in the maintenance and cleaning of the shop and warehouse
• Assists in maintaining proper storage of scenic elements in warehouse
• Pickup and delivery of scenic elements, materials and tools
• Drive company vehicles to and from event site as needed
