Land Surveyor – Precision Surveying for Major Infrastructure – Join Black Rock Enterprises

Job Overview:

The Opportunity: Black Rock Enterprises is seeking a meticulous and experienced Land Surveyor to support our civil construction, utility, and heavy highway projects throughout New Jersey. This role is essential for ensuring the accuracy of our sitework, from initial topographic mapping to final as-built collections. You will work closely with our field superintendents and project managers to provide high-precision data that keeps our high-impact projects on track and within tolerance.

The ideal candidate brings 5 years of professional surveying experience, a mastery of modern GPS and robotic total station technology, and a commitment to the "safety-first" culture that defines our team.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Execute high-precision field surveys for civil, utility, and heavy highway projects to ensure absolute accuracy.

  • Utilize advanced GPS, robotic total stations, and drones to collect and process critical field data.

  • Interpret complex project plans and technical specifications to establish vital reference points and boundaries.

  • Coordinate directly with Project Managers and Superintendents to verify site controls and resolve technical discrepancies.

  • Maintain and calibrate sophisticated surveying instruments to guarantee the integrity of all project measurements.

  • Document detailed field reports and digital records to maintain project transparency and historical accuracy.

  • Enforce strict OSHA safety standards across all jobsites to protect the team and the community.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional land surveying experience specifically within civil construction or sitework.

  • Proven proficiency with modern surveying equipment, including Leica, Trimble, or Topcon, and GNSS systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex construction plans, site grades, and technical documents.

  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills necessary for real-time field calculations.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) status.

  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or specialized survey processing software.

  • Possession of OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
