Internship Knowledge Graph information

What is an internship knowledge graph?

An Internship Knowledge Graph is a structured data model that organizes and connects information related to internships, such as companies offering positions, required skills, educational backgrounds, locations, and application deadlines. It uses nodes and relationships to map out how various internship opportunities are related to one another and to relevant entities. This helps students, employers, and educational institutions easily search, analyze, and recommend internships tailored to specific interests and qualifications.

What types of projects do interns typically work on in a knowledge graph internship?

As a Knowledge Graph intern, you can expect to work on projects involving data modeling, entity extraction, and relationship mapping using large data sets. Interns often collaborate closely with data scientists and software engineers to help build, refine, or maintain knowledge graphs that support enterprise search, recommendation systems, or semantic search features. Typical tasks might include analyzing unstructured data, integrating new data sources, and helping to improve the accuracy and scalability of existing graph-based solutions. This hands-on experience offers valuable exposure to both theory and application in the field of knowledge representation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a knowledge graph intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Knowledge Graph Intern, you typically need a background in computer science, data science, or a related field, with foundational knowledge in graph theory and semantic web technologies. Familiarity with tools like Neo4j, RDF, SPARQL, and programming languages such as Python or Java is often required. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills help interns collaborate on complex data modeling tasks and clearly present insights. These skills enable effective contribution to building, optimizing, and maintaining knowledge graph systems that enhance organizational data understanding.

What is the difference between Internship Knowledge Graph vs Data Analyst?

AspectInternship Knowledge GraphData Analyst

Industry UsageEmerging in AI, semantic web, and knowledge management projectsWidely used across finance, marketing, healthcare, and tech sectors
Search & Comparison IntentUnderstanding entry-level roles involving knowledge graphsAnalyzing data to derive insights and support business strategies

The Internship Knowledge Graph role focuses on foundational understanding and research in knowledge graphs, often suitable for students or entry-level candidates. Data Analysts, however, typically have more advanced data handling skills and work across various industries to interpret data for strategic decisions. While both roles involve data concepts, their scope, environment, and experience levels differ significantly.

Job description

AWS Marketing is seeking a Marketing Technology Manager, Global Marketing Programs to support the Events, Sports, and Sponsorship (ESS) team. Modeled after the Forward Deployed Engineer concept, this role is deeply embedded with ESS sub-teams - sitting alongside stakeholders to understand workflows firsthand and build custom solutions that solve real operational problems. You will manage cross-functional programs including application security compliance, marketing technology strategy, digital asset management, and workflow automation - with a focus on being AI-native wherever possible. This role functions as a critical pan-ESS overlay across SSEP, Sponsorship, Global 1P and 3P Events, and Content and Platform Ops, while owning dedicated partnerships with shared service teams including Strategy & Ops, Marketer Experience, Customer Research, Events Technology, and Data: Science and Engineering. A core function is building tools and systems that deliver scalable enablement motions to customer-facing field roles. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, deploys directly to teams to prototype solutions rapidly, and brings a balance of technical acumen, stakeholder management, and a Bias for Action to drive operational excellence.
Key job responsibilities
Tooling Strategy & Automation
• Create and own the technology tooling roadmap for the ESS organization, focusing on efficiency, scale, and evaluation of buy vs. build trade-offs with an AI-first approach
• Optimize marketing technology tools based on ESS' needs including Airtable, Amazon S3, Asana, Workfront, Quick, SharePoint, Highspot, DAM/MAM, Box,- building SOPs, managing access requests, configuring automations, and driving workflow optimization
• Own continued tooling and workflow evaluations; develop and introduce new workflows to enhance team productivity
Forward Deployed Engineering & Embedded Solutions
• Embed directly with ESS sub-teams (Events, Sports, Sponsorships) through rotational assignments, office hours, and on-demand sprints - observing workflows, surfacing automation opportunities, and delivering hands-on technical enablement
• Serve as the technical bridge between ESS teams and centralized Marketing Technology partners, translating business needs into technical requirements and advocating for scalable, extensible solutions
• Build bespoke internal tools, agents, and skills tailored to specific team workflows that would not otherwise be prioritized on a central roadmap (e.g., Airtable automations, QuickSight dashboards, custom integrations)
• Champion technical self-service by training non-technical team members on low-code platforms, AI assistants, and internal tooling
Security & Compliance
• Own and manage the end-to-end third-party Application Security (AppSec) review process for the ESS team, including ticket submissions, vendor relationships, compliance monitoring, security reviews, and close partnership with Marketing Security teams
Content & Data Operations
• Own documentation and knowledge graph strategy across ESS, with a focus on ensuring files and data are structured for seamless utilization by agentic tools and AI workflows
• Drive site maintenance and content redesign for ESS Team SharePoint and Wiki pages
• Yellow badge onboarding - Continue streamlining and systemizing operational workflows, including identifying opportunities to collaborate with IT to reduce onboarding time and accelerate new team member ramp-up.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- 7+ years of developing and managing acquisition marketing or channel programs experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
- Experience developing and executing campaigns across a multitude of timezones and languages
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners
- Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with global footprint
