Job description

Description
The IC&E Engineer will be responsible for the instrumentation, controls, and electrical design of B&W designed equipment for boiler and environmental projects. This position requires an engineer to utilize their basic knowledge of engineering as they perform routine technical work not requiring previous experience. This position requires an engineer to apply prescribed engineering techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria (policies, standards, etc.) to perform assigned tasks.
Duties include the following:
  • Assist in developing instrumentation deliverables such as datasheets, location drawings, and installation details.

• Assist in developing controls deliverables such as control narratives, functional logic diagrams, and control panels including bill of material.
• Use database tools to manipulate data to generate I/O, Instrument, Alarm, and Electrical Load Lists.
• Develop bid specifications for instrumentation and evaluate vendor technical quotes for specification compliance including preparation of technical bid evaluations.
• Assist in the development of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Collect data and gather information to support others on projects.
• Perform standard computations or analysis.
• Prepare drawings, documents, and visual aids.
• Participate in engineering of routine OEM and Service contracts.
• Minimal participation in OEM and Service proposals.
• Interact with others within the same discipline.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering as a minimum.
  • Possess basic oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a group.
  • Previous internship experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Position requires less than 10% travel - travel may be international.
