Hours Per Day: 7.0
Shift: Shift subject to change. Typically Transition Academy schedule includes full 7-hour workdays, Monday-Thursday, and 3-hour workdays on Fridays.
Location: Transition Academy is one program, located on 3 neighboring sites. This posting is for the entire program, and position can be placed at any of the sites.
Hourly Rate: $30.79/hour position (SC7ParaEd26-27.pdf) is eligible for membership in the Teamsters Local Union No. 763 which is part of the Lake Washington School District Trades Bargaining Council No. 763 (TBC).
Job Summary:
Assists teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students of all educational levels who have physical or behavioral needs or are medically fragile. Supports students' special health care needs and develops daily living and behavioral skills. Assists staff with classroom preparation and retrieval, use and storage of equipment and supplies. Supervise and assist students in community settings for job internships, volunteer sites, leisure activities, shopping outings, taking publish transportation, and getting on and off a school bus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
โ€ข Must hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR have completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours OR have passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher. Official documentation will be required upon hire.
