Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer - Development & Security to support our Mission Systems Resilient Connectivity Products (RCP) organization. This role focuses on secure software development, automation, and continuous improvement in support of critical communication and cyber intelligence programs
This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
What YOU will do:
  • Secure Development: Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, high-performing software solutions.
  • Automation: Build and refine CI/CD pipelines to automate development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Integration & Testing: Integrate and validate software in an Agile development environment.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure security, quality, and operational practices are consistently applied.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to Collins Aerospace development processes, security requirements, and industry best practices.

Qualifications you must have:

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Proficiency in software development with secure coding practices.
  • Experience with automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development environments.
  • Knowledge of software security principles, risk mitigation, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience with embedded software development in C++.
  • Proficiency in Linux, scripting (Python, Perl, Shell).
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Cloud.
  • Experience in cryptographic system design and implementation.
  • Exposure to system engineering principles and full software lifecycle execution.
  • Knowledge of hardware-software integration in real-time embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, Coverity.
