Job description

Overview

Inabia is seeking a Full Stack Software Development Engineer for a 12-month onsite contract engagement in Redmond, WA. This is a hands-on build role focused on distributed, cloud-native systems spanning backend services, data systems, and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate takes ownership of ambiguous problems and delivers concrete, scalable technical solutions in a fast-moving, agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship scalable, fault-tolerant backend services and APIs
  • Build and maintain distributed storage, indexing, and query systems optimized for reliability, cost, and performance
  • Take loosely-defined, ambiguous problems and translate them into concrete technical solutions with clear implementation plans
  • Work across the full stack — backend, data layer, and cloud infrastructure — as the work demands
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional engineering team through sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives
  • Ship working software on short, iterative development cycles

Key Qualifications

  • US Citizen or Green Card holder; no visa sponsorship available (C2C, H-1B transfer, OPT/CPT, TN, and third-party visa arrangements not accepted)
  • 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Proficiency in at least one of: Java, Python, Go, or SQL
  • Hands-on, production experience with AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, DynamoDB, CloudFormation)
  • Ability to work onsite in Redmond, WA, 5 days per week for the full 12-month contract duration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing and operating distributed, multi-tiered systems with relational and/or NoSQL databases at scale
  • Exposure to optimization techniques such as linear or nonlinear programming
  • Strong ability to communicate technical tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity — defining solutions from broadly-scoped requirements rather than executing detailed specifications
