The Ion Exchange Resins business within Water Solutions is seeking a Process R&D Laboratory Technologist to join our team at the DuPont Experimental Station in Wilmington, Delaware.

In this role, you will contribute to customer-focused projects, building the technical expertise and product knowledge needed to solve real-world challenges while supporting our manufacturing plants in delivering high-quality solutions. Your work will help advance sustainable technologies that conserve water and energy, reduce environmental impact, and create greater value for our customers.

We are seeking motivated candidates with 2-5 years of industrial laboratory experience who are eager to learn, solve problems, and make an impact. Training in DuPont's core ion exchange resin technologies will be provided.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Synthesize, functionalize, and evaluate polymer materials to support the development of new products and manufacturing processes.
  • Apply ion exchange resin technology to address processing, separation, and purification challenges.
  • Perform laboratory testing and characterization of polymer and aqueous systems to generate data and guide technical decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of scientists and engineers to achieve project objectives and business goals.
  • Analyze experimental results and communicate findings, conclusions, and recommendations to technical teams and management.
  • Manage laboratory operations, including ownership of process and analytical equipment, maintenance of procedures, and documentation.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by adhering to laboratory safety standards and promoting safe work practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 2-5 years of experience in an industrial laboratory environment, which may include relevant internship or co-op experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience synthesizing, functionalizing, and/or testing polymer materials.
  • Familiarity with ion exchange resins and laboratory-scale packed bed systems.
  • Experience characterizing polymers, aqueous systems, or related materials using analytical techniques.
