The Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems business is a trusted provider of innovative naval gas and hybrid power systems, control technology and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and navies around the world.

Job Summary

Join our talented team of Engineers in Menomonee Falls, WI as an Electrical Engineer I. We are looking for an energetic and curious individual who is ready to learn and grow within an organization. Our Electrical Engineers are hands on with design, development, modification, and analysis of various electronics systems including motor controller and power conversion applications for naval ships and submarines. 

What You Will Do
  • Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems while working closely with senior Engineers
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and makes modifications as needed
  • Compile and evaluate design and test data
  • Analyze, develop, and recommend design approaches
  • May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments 
  • Provide regular reporting of progress and status
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable 
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field + some internship experience in design and product development
  • Knowledge of power electronics, power distribution, circuit board design, and/or semi-conductors is much preferred
  • Motivated and engaged; comfortable in a team environment but also okay with working independently sometimes

U.S. Citizenship required. This position may require an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
