Job description

The Java Developer I will assist in developing Java-based applications and data integration solutions while gaining hands-on experience in a high-volume, low-latency environment. This role will collaborate with senior team members and participate in all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC) to build scalable and reliable systems. Responsibilities * Develop and maintain Java-based applications and TIBCO integrations in a high-volume, low-latency environment. * Troubleshoot real-time system issues and provide timely support. * Participate in all stages of the SDLC, including design, development, testing, and deployment. * Implement unit tests and automated tests to ensure code quality. * Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and standard design patterns. * Work with web services, REST APIs, and technologies like XML, JSON, and HTML. * Use version control tools (e.g., Git) and build tools (e.g., Ant, Maven, Gradle). * Collaborate with teams to gather requirements and define business processes. * Adhere to Agile methodologies and participate in team activities (e.g., sprints). * Support software releases and contribute to continuous improvement processes. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in computer science or related * 0-2 years of hands-on experience in Java development * As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C), Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions. * Knowledge of Java programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles. * Familiarity with TIBCO systems or a strong willingness to learn. * Exposure to web services (REST, XML, JSON) and web technologies like HTML. * Experience with code versioning tools such as Git (academic or project work counts). * Basic understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., sprints, daily stand-ups). * Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure (willingness to learn if no prior experience). * Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging and troubleshooting. * Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and follow guidance from senior developers. * Eagerness to learn and grow with new technologies, tools, and best practices. Other: * Must be able to pass federal background investigation and obtain a Public Trust. * This position may require the ability to operate a government vehicle. The incumbent must be at least 18 years of age, able to obtain and maintain Defensive Drivers certification and have a valid state driver's license. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
