  • Formulate clear, actionable treatment plans based on clinical diagnoses and psychological testing.

2. Integrated Case Management

  • Utilization Review: Collaborate with insurance providers and hospital utilization staff to advocate for necessary patient care and documentation requirements.

3. Multidisciplinary Collaboration & Consultation

  • Consult with physicians, nurses, social workers, and rehabilitation therapists to integrate psychological insights into overall medical treatment plans.
  • Participate in daily or weekly interdisciplinary grand rounds and patient care conferences.
  • Provide education to medical staff regarding behavioral health trends, trauma-informed care, and patient compliance strategies.

4. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA, hospital policies, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Complete required case management documentation, including tracking patient progress, referrals, and post-discharge follow-ups.

  • Licensure: Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Psychologist in the state or Louisiana (or license-eligible within a specified timeframe).

Experience & Competencies

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital, inpatient psychiatric unit, or partial hospitalization program (PHP) preferred.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of case management principles, healthcare systems, and community mental health resources.
  • Proven expertise in crisis intervention and managing severe, persistent mental illness (SPMI).
