Hospice Registered Nurse (Inpatient Unit โ€“ Wexford)

Good Samaritan Hospice is currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in providing exceptional care to patients and families in our Inpatient Unit located in Wexford, PA. This full-time position consists of three (3) 12-hour shifts per week, with required daylight and overnight availability, as well as participation in a weekend and holiday rotation.

Position Summary
As a Registered Nurse in the inpatient hospice setting, you will deliver skilled, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with individualized care plans collaboratively developed by the patient and/or family, attending physician, and the hospice interdisciplinary team. Your role is essential in ensuring the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families are compassionately met during end-of-life care.

Qualifications
โ€ข ย  ย Current RN license in the State of Pennsylvania (required)
โ€ข ย  ย Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience (preferred)
โ€ข ย  ย Demonstrated strong clinical assessment and care skills
โ€ข ย  ย Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word
โ€ข ย  ย Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
โ€ข ย  ย Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and physical exams at the beginning of each shift and as needed
  • Provide direct personal care, including but not limited to:
    • Bathing, grooming, and dressing
    • Feeding and vital sign monitoring
    • Ambulation and positioning
    • Transfers, hygiene, and skin care
    • Light housekeeping and meal preparation
  • Offer holistic care to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients; support families throughout the end-of-life journey, including at the time of death
    Ensure timely and accurate completion of clinical documentation
