Role Purpose

The IT SAP Process Analyst Intern will support the SAP PTP (Plan-to-Produce) function within IT by contributing to daily support operations, documentation, testing, and process improvement activities.

The internship is designed as a support-driven, hands-on learning experience, where the intern will progressively contribute to real SAP operations while building a strong understanding of production planning processes and system behavior. This internship is designed for students who are interested in SAP operations, business process analysis, and IT service support. The role also offers exposure to emerging opportunities to apply AI and automation concepts in SAP operations, such as document drafting, knowledge management, and operational insights.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support SAP PP daily operations through ticket handling activities (incident, service requests, and task follow-up).
  • Perform ticket triage, acknowledgment, and initial classification.
  • Assist in resolving low-risk and repetitive SAP tasks under supervision.
  • Support SAP change management processes (SolMan), including tracking, documentation, and coordination with testers and approvers.
  • Execute test scripts in QA environments and document results with proper evidence.
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining background jobs (Control-M).
  • Support master data validation and basic updates (e.g., MRP controllers, storage locations, planning-related data).
  • Help maintain and update operational trackers (Excel-based reporting, plant/division mappings, approval matrices).
  • Monitor basic SAP interfaces (inbound/outbound) and escalate issues with proper documentation.
  • Create and maintain SOPs, user guides, and knowledge base documentation for recurring issues.
  • Participate in cross-functional coordination and basic ticket assignment activities when required.
  • Explore and support practical uses of AI tools in SAP operations, such as:
    • assisting with first drafts of SOPs or process summaries,
    • improving document searchability and knowledge retrieval,
    • helping categorize incident or request patterns,
    • supporting automation ideas for repetitive documentation tasks.
  • Perform other related administrative and analytical support tasks appropriate for an intern role.

 

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in SAP operations, business process analysis, IT support, or enterprise systems.
  • Basic understanding of business process documentation concepts, flowcharts, or SOP structures.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize information clearly and accurately.
  • Ability to follow instructions, manage assigned tasks, and meet deadlines in a professional environment.
  • Willingness to learn from cross-functional teams.

Work Experience desired

  • We are not looking for prior SAP knowledge. Instead, we are looking for high-potential candidates with strong foundational skills. Any exposure to ERP is a plus.
  • Exposure to SAP, ERP systems, IT service management, or business operations through coursework, projects, or internships.
  • Familiarity with process mapping tools, or similar applications.
  • Basic knowledge of incident management, change management, or operational support processes.
  • Experience in preparing documentation, user guides, reports, or structured business presentations.
  • Basic analytical skills and comfort working with data in spreadsheets or reporting tools.
  • Interest in continuous improvement, process standardization, or operational excellence.
  • Exposure to AI tools, generative AI platforms, or automation concepts, with interest in applying them responsibly to improve SAP operations and documentation efficiency.
  • Understanding of data privacy, quality, and governance considerations when using digital tools or AI solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
