Job Description

The Office of the State Courts Administrator, Office of Information Technology, is seeking an Information Security Analyst to provide technical support and analysis in the areas of information technology security for the State Courts System and entities within the judicial branch. This position is critical in analyzing, configuring, monitoring, implementing, and supporting information security systems equipment, applications, and services.  This role is responsible for maintaining a secure and reliable information systems environment, supporting the protection of organizational assets, reducing business risk, and enabling the continued success of daily operations.

The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for the secure configuration, deployment and management of systems which support information security within cloud technologies and on premise.
  • Responsible for day-to-day monitoring of information security tools and devices within cloud technologies and on premise to identify threats and suspicious activity.
  • Responsible for continuous analysis of existing information technology within cloud technologies and on premise to ensure alignment with the Information Security Program, best practices and standards.
  • Responsible for working closely with all units in the Office of Information Technology for the identification and remediation of security vulnerabilities.
  • Assist with the development of information security standards, requirements, and baselines of information technology within cloud technologies and on premise.
  • Assist with all activities associated with a security incident to ensure alignment with the Incident Response Plan.
  • Reviews information security trends and developments to provide threat awareness.
Education and Training Guidelines

Education

Refers to job specific training and education that is recommended for entry into the position.  Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems, or a closely related field.

Experience

Refers to the amount of related work experience that is recommended for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the required tasks. Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis, excluding supervisory experience.

Three years of related work experience.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Experience conducting threat investigations across multiple telemetry sources using SIEM, XDR, or similar security platforms, with the ability to assess alerts, differentiate false positives from genuine threats, and escalate incidents when appropriate.
  • Experience tuning and enhancing threat detection systems to improve alert quality, monitoring effectiveness, and overall security visibility.
  • Exposure to integrating threat intelligence sources into investigations to support the identification and analysis of emerging threats.
  • Experience performing security analysis and validation activities to identify vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and deviations from security policies and standards.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex security concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills, including the ability to recommend risk mitigation strategies while considering operational requirements and business impacts.
