Job Description

The Project Engineering Manager for Test and Automation is a multidisciplinary working lead responsible for mentorship and development of the project engineers. The Project Engineering Lead is responsible for the overall performance of the project engineers. The Project Engineer Lead manages the workload of the project engineers and is responsible for managing the team and budgets, resources and schedules. The Project Engineer Lead is responsible for the planning, management and capacity reporting of the project engineer team. The test and automation project engineer team are the technical owners of all automation and test projects and they are responsible to coordinate  with the engineering team and project management team to ensure proper execution of projects. The Test and Automation Project Engineer Lead is consider the subject matter expert for all Test and Automation projects.

Summary of Essential Job Functions & Duties
  • Technical mentorship and development of project engineers.
  • Owner of the project engineering process and tools.
  • Assignment of project engineering staff to projects.
  • Continuous evaluation of project engineer's performance.
  • Project Engineering resource management.
  • Coordination and management of engineering contractors.
  • Development of student engineers/interns.
  • Responsible for Performance Reviews, Goal settings, time approval for all direct reports. 
  • Responsible for compensation for all direct reports.
  • Lead team meetings, documentation and follow up.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized working environment for the project engineering team.
  • Support project execution as needed.
  • Travel as required.
  • Participate in ISO training and audits.
  • Any other assignments as deem appropriate.
Education and Experience

Education:  Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or in a related field of study or equivalent years of experience in related field; minimum of 10 years in engineering position.

  • U.S. citizenship required (ITAR compliance)
  • Must have experience implementing industrial automation, rotary equipment and test machines
  • Must have a high-level understanding of engineering fundamentals
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, articulately and professionally to team members and customers
  • Must have proven leadership experience leading a team of technical and engineering professionals
  • Proficient in the use of Outlook and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrate ability to motivate and develop personnel
  • Must have appropriate schedule flexibility, sense of urgency, motivation and versatility to make a substantial contribution to the organization's success
  • Ability to interact positively and constructively with all RedViking team members while representing company in a professional manner
  • Willingness to work "above and beyond" in order to meet company goals
  • Well organized, detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to travel 30% to other company sites as well as customer sites
  • Must have excellent time management skills
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
