About Us

Senior Helpers of Sarnia-Lambton is a growing home care organization dedicated to supporting seniors in living safely, independently, and comfortably at home. We are building our local presence and community awareness, and we are seeking an enthusiastic Marketing & Social Media Intern to support our outreach and brand growth.

This internship is unpaid, intended for students or early-career professionals seeking hands-on learning experience, portfolio development, and real-world marketing exposure. A reference letter and/or academic placement documentation can be provided upon successful completion.


Position Overview

The Social Media & Marketing Intern will assist in expanding our digital presence, building relationships with community partners, and developing online content to promote our services and caregiver recruitment.

This role is ideal for someone who is creative, curious, proactive, and excited about marketing in a real-world business environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Create engaging social media content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok

  • Research community organizations, healthcare partners, and referral networks

  • Assist in planning and executing online campaigns and outreach initiatives

  • Help maintain and update website content (no coding required)

  • Track engagement, analytics, and social performance metrics

  • Support email and newsletter creation using provided templates

  • Brainstorm creative ways to increase brand awareness locally

  • Participate in weekly check-ins to review progress and receive coaching


Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or related program (or strong interest in the field)

  • Strong writing and communication skills

  • Familiar with social media platforms and content styles

  • Organized, reliable, and able to work independently

  • Curious, creative, and willing to learn new tools

  • Experience with Canva, Instagram Reels/TikTok, or basic video/photo editing is an asset (not required)
