Front of House (FOH) Trainer Advocate
Job Description

Reconcile New Orleans, Inc. (RNO), also known as Café Reconcile, has been a
cornerstone of the community since 2000. We combine delicious New Orleans cuisine
with a mission-driven purpose: empowering young people ages 16–24 through job
training, skill development, and career exploration. Our innovative programs help
interns and alumni develop their strengths, overcome challenges, and pursue career
goals.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Reconcile depends on passionate team members to help
advance our mission. By joining us, you will play a vital role in preparing the next
generation for success while delivering an exceptional hospitality experience to every
guest.
Primary Function/Purpose:
The FOH Trainer Advocate delivers hands-on hospitality training and supports the daily
operations of Café Reconcile. This role combines restaurant operations with workforce
development by coaching and developing interns in real time during café service.
This position reports to the Chief Culinary Officer. The FOH Trainer Advocate
collaborates closely with the FOH Manager to support daily café operations, coordinate
training, and ensure consistent execution of Front-of-House service standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Demonstrate positive leadership through mentorship, coaching, and professional
role modeling.
• Conduct direct hospitality training for interns during daily café operations.
• Train and coach interns in FOH responsibilities.
• Execute operational responsibilities as needed, including cashier, host, server, food
runner, dishwasher, prep cook, line support, or other café functions.
• Model exceptional customer service and hospitality standards for interns and guests.
• Maintain high standards for food safety, sanitation, organization, and operational
readiness.
• Provide ongoing coaching, evaluation, and performance feedback to interns.
• Collaborate with the Program Team to ensure interns receive consistent support and
development.
• Communicate intern progress, successes, and concerns with appropriate staff.
• Document required intern observations and progress in Efforts to Outcomes (ETO).
• Participate in Work of the Day (WoD), pre-shift meetings, and intern briefings.
• Support catering events, private dining, and special events as assigned.
• Assist with continuous improvement of café operations and hospitality training
practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the hospitality industry with a strong
background in both FOH and BOH operations.
• Experience as a server, bartender, line cook, shift leader, trainer, floor manager, or
similar hospitality leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to perform multiple operational roles in a restaurant
environment.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience engaging and training diverse young adults ages 16–24.
• Strong organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficient in Google Workspace and comfortable learning modern technology
platforms, including ETO.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Pre-employment background check required.
