An internship in sports is a temporary position, often for students or recent graduates, that provides hands-on experience in the sports industry. These internships can involve working with sports teams, organizations, marketing departments, event management, or sports media. Interns typically assist with daily operations, gain exposure to the business side of sports, and develop professional networks that can lead to future career opportunities. Most sports internships are unpaid or offer modest compensation, but they are highly valued for the practical experience and industry connections they provide.

What kinds of projects or responsibilities can I expect during a sports internship?

As a sports intern, you may be involved in a variety of projects such as assisting with event planning, supporting marketing campaigns, coordinating with athletes or coaches, managing social media accounts, and helping with game-day operations. The specific tasks often depend on the department and organization, but interns typically gain hands-on experience in both administrative and operational aspects of sports management. You'll also have opportunities to collaborate with professionals across departments, which provides valuable exposure to different career pathways within the sports industry.
