$20.00/Hr. - $27.00/Hr.
Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 12.5%
Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 12.5%
These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.
About This Job
Axos Bank's Mortgage Banking division is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Credit Analyst to join our growing team. In this position, you will support the underwriting and credit review process for warehouse lines of credit extended to independent mortgage banks. You will help evaluate borrower financial strength, monitor collateral, and ensure compliance with Axos' credit policies.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and business performance data for independent mortgage banks and non-depository lenders seeking warehouse lines of credit.
  • Assist in underwriting new warehouse credit facilities and annual reviews of existing borrowers, including spreading financials and preparing credit memorandums.
  • Monitor borrower collateral positions by reviewing daily loan-level reports, aging schedules, and funding activity to identify concentration risks or covenant issues.
  • Collaborate with relationship managers and operations teams to support new facility onboarding and amendments.
  • Conduct quarterly loan reviews for warehouse borrowers, assessing financial performance, portfolio quality, and adherence to credit agreement covenants; escalate exceptions or potential covenant violations to senior credit officers in a timely manner.
  • Complete projects and process improvements as directed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1+ years of experience in financial services, banking, lending, or a credit-related role
  • Basic understanding of credit analysis concepts, financial statements, and loan documentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
  • Strong mindfulness and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow within the mortgage industry.
  • Exposure to loan documentation, credit file management, or document tracking preferred.
  • Understanding of loan administration workflows, and mortgage banking industry
  • Internship or entry-level banking experience
