Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Tax Supervisor to join a growing public accounting team. This role is responsible for reviewing complex tax returns, preparing advanced tax filings, performing technical tax research, managing client relationships, and mentoring accounting professionals.

The ideal candidate will have supervisor-level tax experience with a strong background reviewing tax returns and preparing complex returns. Candidates with public accounting experience supporting specialized industries such as banks/financial institutions, construction, not-for-profit organizations, or governmental entities are highly preferred.

This role offers a performance-based compensation structure with opportunities for overtime compensation, additional paid time off options, and manager-level bonus programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review complex tax returns at the supervisor level, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to professional standards

  • Prepare complex tax returns including individual, fiduciary, employee benefit plan, nonprofit, corporate, and partnership tax returns

  • Perform technical tax research and analyze complex tax issues to determine appropriate solutions

  • Manage multiple tax engagements while meeting client deadlines and quality expectations

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and support

  • Serve as a technical tax resource for internal teams and provide guidance on tax matters

  • Assist clients with tax compliance, planning, and advisory needs

  • Review work prepared by staff and provide feedback, coaching, and development support

  • Train, mentor, and supervise staff and interns
