Job description

Essential Funtions:
  • Turn on ice water
  • Monitor system
  • Repair and maintenance of air conditioning (eg belts, motors, etc).

Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative and general maintenance tasks on HVAC systems
  • Strong background in reading and interpreting instructions and safety procedures associated with HVAC processes.
  • Install and maintain diverse heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems
  • Lay out wires and pipes to complete HVAC systems
  • Ensure that all installations are done in accordance to the set standards
  • Make sure that any loose wires are connected and secured properly
  • Ensure calibration of thermostats and other controls
  • Perform checks on motors and belts and handle lubrication duties
  • Change filters and replace any parts as they wear out

  • Repair motors.
  • Service steam and hot water boilers
  • Ensure that chemical compositions in equipment are adequate at all times
  • Handle running conduit for HVAC equipment
  • Order any supplies or equipment needed for HVAC maintenance or installation as needed
  • Ensure availability of all items needed for an HVAC project
  • Respond to emergency situations in order to resolve issues on an immediate basis
  • Great ability to determine whether a part of a system or the system in whole can be repaired or will need to be replaced.
  • Deep understanding of fabricating equipment parts to meet specialty needs or replace parts that may not be readily available.
  • Determine need for upgrading HVAC systems and take measures to take necessary actions
  • Reassemble and test equipment following repairs.
  • Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
  • Adjust system controls to setting recommended by manufacturer to balance system, using hand tools.
  • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
  • Strictly follow company's safety and cGMP policies and procedures.
    Perform additional duties as assigned by direct supervisor to support normal operations.

Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills:
  • High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent. License required 3+ year experience as an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in HVAC field.
  • Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
  • Working knowledge of boiler systems.
  • Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
  • Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice. Ability to work in confined spaces.

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate equipments, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell. The employee may lift and/or move up to 25-35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception,
    and the ability to adjust focus.
  • He / she may frequently work inside weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, exposed to wet and or humid conditions, and an odorous atmosphere, may be exposed to fumes and the risk of electrical shock ,and occasionally work on ladders in high places, in small spaces, such as lift/metering stations, manholes, tanks and wet wells. The noise level in the
    work environment is usually moderately loud.
