Job description

Description:

The Real Estate Staff Attorney provides legal services for housing and homeownership programs, including representing first-time homebuyers at closings and preparing documentation for the Chicago Housing Authority Choose to Own Program. This role facilitates housing-related Know Your Rights workshops and supervises paralegal and law interns. The ideal candidate has experience in real estate and housing law and is committed to advancing equitable access to homeownership.

Requirements:
  • J.D. degree and Illinois law license required.
  • 5 years experience in a managerial capacity with demonstrated success in developing, implementing and monitoring fiscal and programmatic plans, and in selection, supervision and evaluation of staff.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in housing justice law setting.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.
