The Cage Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and operational performance of the Cage Department. This position oversees all cage operations, ensures compliance with all applicable gaming regulations and company policies, safeguards company assets, and provides leadership to Cage Shift Managers and Cage team members. The Cage Manager is responsible for developing staff, maintaining financial controls, managing departmental budgets and inventory, and ensuring exceptional guest service while promoting a culture of accountability, integrity, and operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct and oversee all Cage Department operations across all shifts.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to Cage Leadership, Cage Team Members, and Main Bankers.
  • Develop departmental goals, operating procedures, and performance standards.
  • Foster a positive, guest-focused work environment built on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure efficient daily operations while maintaining security and integrity of all financial transactions.
  • Establish and maintain operational procedures that promote accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Monitor staffing levels and operational needs to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Review cash variances, investigations, reconciliations, and financial reports.
  • Ensure accurate balancing and reconciliation of all cage transactions.
  • Identify trends and implement corrective actions to minimize shortages and operational risks.
  • Ensure compliance with the Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Commission (KHRGC) regulations, internal controls, AML/BSA requirements, Title 31 requirements, and company policies.
  • Partner with Compliance, Surveillance, and Finance to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain department readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, coach, and develop Cage team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development.
  • Address employee performance concerns through performance management.
  • Create succession plans and develop future department leaders.
  • Ensure guests receive professional, efficient, and courteous service.
  • Resolve complex guest concerns and financial disputes promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor labor expenses and scheduling to achieve financial objectives.
  • Oversee inventories of cash, chips, supplies, and equipment.
  • Participate in property leadership meetings and contribute to operational initiatives.
  • Prepare and analyze operational and financial reports.
  • Monitor department KPIs and implement action plans for improvement.
  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive gaming or casino cage experience, or equivalent banking experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of management experience supervising leaders.
  • Thorough knowledge of gaming cash operations, internal controls, and gaming regulations.
  • Experience with budgeting, scheduling, labor management, and financial reporting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Advanced cash handling and reconciliation experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and gaming management systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required Kentucky gaming licenses.
