Job Summary:
NorthMark Compute & Cloud (NMC²) is a technology-driven company focused on enhancing high-performance computing and cloud infrastructure. The HPC Storage Engineer will design, deploy, and manage scalable storage systems to support research workloads, collaborating with researchers and software engineers to optimize workflows.
Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and manage multi-PB storage systems to support the compute environment
• Implement automated processes and procedures consistent with a strategy of Infrastructure-as-code for a consistent, repeatable storage product
• Leverage experience and expertise across all things storage related to act as an expert for a wide array of projects
• Work with customers to streamline workflows for optimal storage usage
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• Experience deploying and managing high-performance and/or clustered filesystems at scale
• Strong working knowledge of the different types of data center storage technologies (file, block, object) and how they differ
• Team player that enjoys collaborating with others to deliver supportable storage environments
• Experience with scale-out storage architectures such as Vast Data and Isilon/PowerScale
• Recent experience working through JIRA tickets
• Great problem solving skills, be self-driven, and hard working
• A passion for technology and hardware
• Python and/or DevOps experience
