Position Description:

The End-User Computing Engineer is responsible for supporting, enhancing, and securing the Bank's End-User Computing (EUC) environment. This role serves as a technical resource for the implementation, management, optimization, and troubleshooting of enterprise desktop technologies, virtual desktop infrastructure, endpoint management platforms, and related end-user services.

Working as part of the Information Technology team, the End-User Computing Engineer collaborates closely with Customer Support, Infrastructure Services, Information Security, and other technology teams to maintain reliable, secure, and efficient EUC services. The role provides advanced technical expertise, third-tier support, and engineering solutions that improve system performance, strengthen security, and enhance the overall user experience.

The position focuses on ensuring the availability, scalability, and security of the Bank's endpoint computing environment through proactive administration, automation, and continuous improvement. The End-User Computing Engineer leverages technical expertise to support modern workplace technologies, streamline operations, and deliver solutions that align with the Bank's business objectives and technology strategy.

Operating with a high degree of ownership and accountability, the End-User Computing Engineer identifies improvement opportunities, resolves complex technical issues, implements technology enhancements, and helps ensure that employees have secure and reliable access to the systems and tools they need to perform their work effectively.

Day-to-Day Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain enterprise EUC services to ensure acceptable levels of performance, reliability, and availability.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, problem resolution, and preventative maintenance for desktop, endpoint, and virtual desktop technologies.
  • Provide third-tier technical support and technical guidance to Customer Support and other IT teams.
  • Administer and support desktop operating systems, endpoint management platforms, mobile devices, and related technologies.
  • Enhance system security through endpoint hardening, vulnerability remediation, configuration management, and security-focused engineering practices.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve technical documentation, standards, procedures, and operational support materials.
  • Create and maintain automation solutions and scripts that improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and optimize operational processes.
  • Manage assigned EUC systems and services, ensuring consistent performance, support, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
  • Track work requests, operational activities, incidents, and project tasks through the Bank's IT service management processes.
  • Communicate infrastructure updates, maintenance activities, and technology changes to management, support teams, and end users as appropriate.
  • Support operating system and application deployment, patching, packaging, and update management activities.
  • Collaborate with Information Security, Infrastructure Services, and application teams to support technology initiatives, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in the evaluation, testing, and implementation of new technologies that improve the employee computing experience and support the Bank's strategic objectives.
What You Bring to the Team:

Our ideal candidate has experience supporting enterprise end-user computing environments and enjoys working in a collaborative, customer-focused technology organization dedicated to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

This role requires a combination of endpoint engineering, systems administration, automation, troubleshooting, and customer service expertise, including:

  • Associate's degree, technical school certification, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Professional certifications in Microsoft, Omnissa, VMware, or related technologies preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience as a Systems Administrator, Systems Engineer, End-User Computing Engineer, or similar technology role.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and experience may be considered.
  • Experience administering enterprise Windows environments, desktop platforms, and endpoint management solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience supporting desktop operating systems, mobile devices, endpoint security, and end-user productivity tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of service, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across cross-functional technology teams.
  • Commitment to operational excellence, continuous learning, and delivering high-quality technical support and engineering solutions.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting, automation, and systems management tools.
  • Experience supporting virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), including Omnissa Horizon, VMware Horizon, or Azure Virtual Desktop environments.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automated platform management.
  • Experience with endpoint security technologies, vulnerability management, and remediation programs.
  • Experience supporting Windows 11, Microsoft 365 applications, and modern workplace technologies.
  • Experience with Windows Autopilot, device provisioning, and modern desktop deployment methodologies.
  • Experience administering cloud-based computing environments, including Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with Digital Employee Experience (DEX) monitoring solutions such as ControlUp.
  • Experience supporting collaboration and conferencing technologies including Microsoft Teams Rooms, Cisco Webex, and related platforms.
  • Experience working within regulated financial services, banking, or highly controlled technology environments.
