Position Compensation Range:
$62,000.00 - $103,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.
The Technical Accounting Analyst supports the Technical Accounting & Research team. You will be responsible for executing recurring and project-based responsibilities related to technical accounting research and inquiries, accounting policy governance, audit and financial reporting support, recurring operational accounting activities, and accounting consistency efforts across GAAP and STAT. You will report to the Senior Manager, Accounting.
In this flex office/home role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from Madison, WI 53783.

Primary Accountabilities
  • You will assist with technical accounting research and documentation of accounting matters by gathering facts, reviewing relevant GAAP and STAT guidance, preparing draft analysis, and summarizing conclusions for review by senior team members and management.
  • You will assist with accounting policy governance activities, including reviewing policies for completeness and accuracy, identifying potential gaps or clarification needs, and supporting policy updates as needed.
  • You will support audit, financial statement, and disclosure-related activities by preparing schedules, gathering supporting documentation, coordinating responses, and assisting with recurring reporting and disclosure support responsibilities.
  • You will perform recurring operational accounting support activities assigned to the Technical Accounting & Research team, including account analysis, reconciliations, recurring entries, financial reporting support, and other execution-oriented responsibilities.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of accounting concepts, financial reporting, financial analysis, internal controls, accounting systems, or related financial processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather facts, evaluate information, perform research, document analysis, and identify matters requiring escalation or additional review.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating financial or accounting information clearly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience using spreadsheets to organize, analyze, reconcile, and track financial or accounting information.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business partners and team members to obtain information, follow up on open items, and support timely completion of assigned work.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain organized documentation, and apply attention to detail in completing assigned responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated professional judgment and willingness to escalate questions or issues appropriately.
  • Travel requirements up to 5%.

Preferred Additional Qualifications
  • Accounting degree
  • CPA
  • Basic understanding of US GAAP accounting standards
  • Statutory accounting experience
