Seeking a hands-on Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to lead failure analysis, lab diagnostics, and component obsolescence redesigns. This role leverages simulation tools and structured problem-solving (8D) to resolve complex hardware issues on production lines and drive design updates, while presenting technical solutions to key customers and suppliers.

responsibilities:
  • Failure Analysis & Troubleshooting (50%)
    • Conduct in-depth lab-based diagnostics on returned hardware
    • Support manufacturing issues on the production line
    • Identify root causes using analog and digital simulation tools.
    • Develop and implement design changes to address identified issues.
    • Utilize industry standard methodologies for analysis and reporting such as 8D.
  • Obsolescence Redesign and Resolution (50%)
    • Monitor and manage component lifecycle risks.
    • Propose and validate design updates to mitigate obsolescence.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate and integrate solutions.
  • Customer & Supplier Communication
    • Lead technical review meetings using PowerPoint presentations.
    • Clearly communicate failure insights and resolution plans.

qualifications:

Proven experience in hardware failure analysis and lab troubleshooting.


Proficiency in analog and digital simulation software (e.g., SPICE, LTspice, Multisim, MATLAB/Simulink).


Strong background in obsolescence management and component lifecycle planning.


Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to lead meetings and convey technical findings to diverse audiences.


Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
