Job description

Academy Bus is highly skilled Bus Mechanic with manager skills for Prevost Bus fleet Maintenance operations. This position is located at our modern state of the art facility in Atlanta, GA.
In this role you will manage a team of mechanics and cleaning crew, and oversee the operations of a diesel bus maintenance garage. You will be hands-on with repairs and on-going training and development of your team.
Earn $33.00-$42.00 per hour. Pay rate commensurate with experience level.
Responsibilities:
  • Train and supervise diesel mechanics and cleaning staff.
  • Hands-on maintenance of assigned bus fleet
  • Repair, troubleshooting and diagnosis of modern tour bus engines and transmissions
  • Reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenance
  • Inspections and road tests, respond to road calls
  • Warranty and repair documentation
  • Diagnosis, inspection, installation, disassembly and cleaning of components such as: Diesel engines, electronic systems/motors/controls, drive line components, tires, bearings, brake systems, seals, radiators, water pumps, coolant hoses, alternators, regulators, steering components, oil/air filters, door assemblies, controls, belts, pneumatic valves, cables, and linkages, radiators, heating, air conditioning, alternators, generators, voltage regulators, suspensions, seating, steering, and glass.
  • Supervise maintenance operations and source local vendors as needed
  • General welding/fabrication

Requirements:
  • 7+ years of diesel engine maintenance
  • Must have supervisory experience, Must have own tools
  • Proven ability to use hands tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, pullers, VOA instruments, reamers, vacuum and compression pumps, welding equipment, and testing instruments
  • Proficient in the use of diagnostic devices such as: DDEC readers, ATEC readers, SmarTire, schematics, AIC (Freon) recovery and charging equipment
  • Basic computer skills
  • CDL License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements required
