JOB TITLE:Maintenance Technician

JOB LOCATION:Rochester, NY

REPORTS TO:Coating Maintenance Supervisor

HOURS: B-Shift 2pm - 10:30pm

SCOPE OF ROLE:

IH&S is currently looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support its thin-film coating operations, cnc machining, and production machining environment.. The right candidate will have significant experience with thin film coating technologies, hardware and associated vacuum systems and electronics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the thin-film coating operation with vacuum equipment and electronics expertise;
Real-time troubleshooting of coating issues based on root cause assessment;
Support off-line improvement projects as related to maintenance, uptime and MTBF;
Support facility systems as needed;
Work with engineering and manufacturing to improve process and equipment reliability.

Support equipment in other departments related to the thin-film coating operations (ex. Glass Shop).

*Key success criteria for this position are: Coating machine uptime and factory overall efficiency (FOE) defined as the product of yields, cycle time and uptime normalized to theoretically achievable goals.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of a 2-year technical degree and 3+ years experience with high-vacuum deposition, or 6+ years relevant experience;
Direct experience with ion sources and electron guns; desirable;
Direct experience with the repair, diagnostics and root-cause analysis of vacuum coating equipment issues;
Formal electronics and vacuum training desirable;
Experience with facility systems, including HVAC, compressed air, and chilled-water systems desirable;
Experience using measurement systems as applied to thin film coating production, such as spectrophotometers, interferometers, oscilloscopes and other electrical, optical and mechanical test equipment
Strong written and oral communication skills;
Proficiency with MS office;
Basic understanding of computer hardware and interfaces;
Willingness to work flexible work hours including weekends and/or holidays.
