Functional Responsibilities: 

I2X Technologies is seeking a Journeyman Software Engineer:

Develops, tests, and maintains software applications and systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Applies software engineering principles to design solutions, troubleshoot issues, support system integrations, and contribute to Agile development efforts. Typically possesses 2โ€“5 years of professional experience and proficiency in modern programming languages, version control, APIs, testing, and deployment processes.

Clearance: Secret

Job Duties: 

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Develop and support APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide technical feedback.
  • Collaborate with QA, DevOps, product managers, and other engineering teams.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment activities.
  • Maintain technical documentation and software artifacts.
  • Participate in Agile or Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Support system integration, deployment, performance tuning, and reliability improvements

Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Approximately 2โ€“5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience with modern programming languages (Java, Python, etc.).
  • Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, including:

    • Data structures and algorithms
    • Object-oriented design
    • Design patterns
    • Software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with:
    • Git or other version control systems
    • REST APIs and microservices
    • Software testing and debugging
    • Agile development methodologies
    • CI/CD pipelines
  • Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • DevOps/DevSecOps experience.
  • SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) or enterprise application development.
  • Cybersecurity and secure coding practices
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
