NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, in collaboration with Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a compassionate and skilled physician leader to join our dynamic team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, Broadway as Associate Medical Director.

Our dedicated team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in the country, provides coordinated, full spectrum care for both children and adults using the best clinical practices and tools to manage patient health. Opportunity Details:

  • Leads and implements the clinical direction for the site.

  • Participates in site management, operational, fiscal, and clinical quality strategy development and implementation.

  • In partnership with the CMO and the Regional Medical Director, designs, implements, and evaluates ongoing medical/clinical protocols to be followed at the site clinical practice areas.

  • Ensures adequate provider staffing is available for all clinical sessions and works with site and regional leadership in anticipation of future shortfalls. Addresses site provider needs and assists in Provider Staffing Plan and provider scheduling, as appropriate.

  • Helps to onboard, train, coach, and supervise providers under their direct supervision, in coordination with the Regional Medical Director and CMO; works with HR-Talent Acquisition and affiliate HR to recruit, screen and hire new providers.

  • Monitors providers' performance on key measures related to productivity and ensures provision of high quality of services.

  • Monitors provider and site performance on Care Gap and Value-based payment (VBP) metrics and works with site care teams to identify gaps and implement solutions to drive improvement.

  • Completes annual performance evaluation for direct reports.

  • Participates in the Credentialing and Peer Review Committee(s) and related processes and maintains the confidentiality inherent to these processes.

  • Participates in Quality improvement committee, performs chart reviews, and implements performance improvement programs.

  • Communicates effectively with all levels of staff, creates and maintains effective interpersonal relationships, and consistently utilizes and facilitates strategies to encourage collaborative problem solving and decision making.

  • Onsite presence required for performance of all work duties.

  • 50% Administrative and 50% Direct Patient/Clinical care responsibilities.

  • Must provide late evening and weekend coverage as part of the standard scheduling rotation.

Qualifications

  • Board Certification in a medical specialty (Internal or Family Medicine, preferred).

  • Active or eligible for New York State Medical License.

  • Experience in Federally Qualified Health Centers and/or an NCQA recognized Patient Centered Medical Home is preferred.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $256,000* based on a 40-hour work week.

The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $281,600**, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, and other factors as set forth below:

  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):

    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.

    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.

  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.

  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.

  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.

  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.

    • Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.

  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.

  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).

  • Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses.
