Job description

Business Operations Management Internship โ€“ Paid, Hands-On Role with Real Growth Potentialย ย

At: Anderson Sport & Wellness | Newport Beach, CA (On-Site)ย ย

Join a thriving, client-centered physicalย therapyย and wellness practice where your ideas and competencies directly shape our successโ€”and help transform lives every day.ย ย

We are a premier holistic PT clinic in beautiful Newport Beach, specializing in orthopedic manual therapy, chronic pain relief, sports recovery, and personalized wellness (including MELT Method, Pilates, and free community workshops). Our energetic, positive team usesย cutting-edgeย technology and specialized care to help patients reclaim active, pain-free lives.ย We'reย a family-friendly, collaborative environment where everyone contributes to meaningful outcomes. The owner of the clinic is launching a Nonprofit organization this year to provide financial assistance to patients who need medical care that is not covered by insurance, and is also working on a medical device project. The plan is to bring that device to market in the near future.ย

As ourย Business Operations Management Intern,ย you'llย gain invaluable, real-world experience managing a successful small medical practiceโ€”far beyond typical admin tasks.ย You'llย work side-by-side with the owner (a practicing lead therapist), physical therapists, frontย desk, aides, and fellow interns in a dynamic, supportive setting. The successful intern may also be invited to assist the owner with the nonprofit and medical device projects.

What You'll Do (Under Experiencedย Mentorship):ย ย

  • Drive daily operations:ย Optimizeย schedules,ย audit forย efficiency, manage inventory, and ensure seamless patient flow to maximize revenue and satisfaction.ย ย

  • Contribute strategically: Meet weekly with providers and the owner to brainstorm, evaluate processes, recommend improvements, and implement changes that boost growth andย profitability.ย ย

  • Overseeย key business functionsย (under mentorship): Leverage team to track revenue, patient data, and leads;ย respond to inquiries within 24 hours; scrutinize expenses;ย maintainย systems with IT support;ย audit systems andย processes,ย andย ensure compliance with regulations. Your leadership skills will be leveraged and developedย under mentorship.

  • Support digital & marketing efforts:ย Assistย marketing and recruiting team withย tools likeย PhysioFunnelsย (CRM), Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, andย JazzHR.ย ย

  • Solve real problems: Adapt to challenges, resolve conflicts with respect, and bring proactive ideas to keep our clinicย running efficiently.ย ย

This isย notย justย busyworkโ€”you'llย make tangible contributions to our clinic's success while buildingย a strong foundationย in business operations, entrepreneurship, marketing, sales, HR, and more.ย ย

Why This Internship Stands Out:ย ย

  • Paid competitively: $20โ€“$35/hour based on experience, with performance-based raises and advancement opportunities.ย ย

  • Flexible commitment: 15โ€“29ย hours/week (Internship length is 12 weeks). Rolling basisโ€”positions available now (not just summer). Whenย there is a position open and good alignment, interns may be hired full time or part time after the internship is over.

  • Exceptional mentorship: Daily check-ins plus bi-weekly 1:1 coaching with the owner/founder focused onย business operations andย entrepreneurship.ย ย

  • Custom learning track: Choose your focus (Business operations, orย entrepreneurship) with training videos, resources, and a capstone project toย showcase onย your resume.ย ย

  • Clear path to more: High-performing internsย oftenย transition to roles within theย company,ย and there is room to grow based on performance.ย

  • Perks: Sick time, positive team culture, and the chance to workย on a team thatย makesย a positive difference in peopleโ€™s lives every day.ย ย

Weย are seekingย business students who are:ย ย

  • Positive, friendly, and great at building relationships.ย ย

  • Excellent communicators (written + verbal) with strong attention to detail and organization.ย ย

  • Quick learners who askย thoughtfulย questions and adapt proactively to change.ย ย

  • Resourceful, persistent, and tenacious problem-solvers.ย ย

  • Proactive idea-generators with superior time management and conflict resolution skills (our culture values respect and honor).ย ย

  • Comfortable with tech: Solid Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; bonus for CRM, social media, YouTube/podcasting, orย JazzHRย experience.ย ย

Qualifications:ย ย

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's orย Master's in Business Administrationย or related field (graduation 2026โ€“2027ย preferred).ย ย

  • 3.5+ GPA.ย ย

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.ย ย

  • Preferred: 2+ years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience.ย ย

Ifย you'reย a motivated business major eager forย meaningful, paid experienceย that builds real skills, offers mentorship from anย entrepreneur-owner, and positions you for long-term success in management or operationsโ€”apply today!ย
