Job Title

Platform Engineering Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a Platform Engineering Engineer to develop and maintain reusable software components that support engineering teams and improve developer productivity. This role focuses on designing, implementing, integrating, and maintaining platform infrastructure and software solutions that enable scalable, secure, and automated application development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design platform infrastructure and tools in collaboration with enterprise architects and software engineering teams.
  • Implement and manage infrastructure supporting platform tools, including upgrades, security patches, and performance improvements.
  • Evaluate cloud platforms, containerization technologies, and infrastructure configurations to create reusable solutions for application teams.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and utilize CI/CD processes to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management.
  • Implement monitoring, performance optimization, and scalability best practices using QoS and SLA metrics.
  • Incorporate security, identity management, access control, encryption, logging, backup, and disaster recovery into platform infrastructure.
  • Integrate enterprise-managed software configurations into deployment pipelines to ensure adherence to approved security, networking, monitoring, and performance standards.
  • Gather feedback from developers and service providers to continuously improve the platform.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 6+ years of IT experience.
  • 4+ years of software development experience.
  • Practical experience in two programming languages or advanced proficiency in one programming language.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience using Jenkins.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform Cloud Run.
  • Experience with BigQuery.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform services including BigQuery, Cloud Run, IAM, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Build.
  • Ability to work onsite four days per week.
